NEBRASKA CHAPTER IAAI
General Information

One per year, a $200 scholarship may be administered at the rate of $100 per semester or, in the case of a recipient who attends an institution on a quarterly system, $50 per quarter. Scholarship may be reapplied for from year to year.

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY

1. A member or an immediate family member of the Nebraska Chapter IAAI.
2. Enrollment in an accredited two or four year institution or senior standing in high school.
3. Financial need will be a consideration; however, not the only consideration.
4. Applicants who are recipients of a partial scholarship from another source will be given priority consideration over the recipient of a full scholarship.
5. Fire Science or Criminal Justice majors will be given priority consideration.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION

1. The application should be in the form of a letter with attachments. The letter should contain a statement of the applicant's need for financial assistance, a general statement of the course of study, and the accredited college, vocational or trade school the applicant intends to attend. Attached to the application should be a transcript of the applicant's school grades and a recent photo. We further request that the application be accompanied by a brief Letter of Recommendation from a counselor, principal, superintendent or work supervisor (whichever may apply) setting forth the person's relationship with any knowledge of the applicant. It would be helpful for that person to bring to our attention any facts that would be pertinent in our consideration of the applicant's request.
2. The deadline for application is NO later than April 1 of the same year prior to the beginning of the school year for which application is being made.

SELECTION

1. The selection committee will be chaired by the Vice President of the Nebraska Chapter IAAI, and of three other members appointed by the President of the Nebraska Chapter IAAI.
2. Selection will be made on the basis of material submitted.
3. Upon selection, a check will be made payable to the institution the recipient will attend with instructions that the student should be paid $100 per semester with no restrictions on the use of the funds. In the event the recipient does not attend the full year, the remainder of the funds is to be returned to the Nebraska Chapter IAAI.
